(MERCED, CA.)  UC Merced's cross-country teams fared well at the recent Cal Pac Preview meet hosted at William Jessup University in Rocklin.  The men placed second, while the women placed fourth overall.

Freshman sensation, Sofia Rios, led wire-to-wire in a dual meet over Cal Pac rival Cal-Maritime.  Rios' time in the 5,000 meter course set the standard at 20:37, about 1 minute and 30 seconds ahead of her next closest competitor.
